Privacy Policy

At My Tiny Journal, your privacy is simple. My Tiny Journal was built to help you keep meaningful moments, not to collect your personal information.

Your journal entries remain on your device. We do not receive them, store them, or have access to them.

Your privacy at a glance

  • No account required
  • No personal data collection
  • No selling of your information
  • Your journal entries stay on your device
  • We cannot read your entries because we never receive them
  • Your personal photos are not uploaded to our servers

Information we collect

My Tiny Journal does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information.

Your journal entries, favorites, prompts, settings, and other app data are stored locally on your device.

We do not require you to create an account to use the app.

Journal entries and photos

Your written journal entries are stored locally within the app on your device.

Photos used in My Tiny Journal may be stored in a My Tiny Journal album within your device’s photo library. The app may retain a reference to the photo so it can appear with the correct journal entry.

We do not receive, upload, or store your journal photos on our servers.

Deleting a photo from your device or the My Tiny Journal album may cause it to stop appearing with its journal entry. Your written entry may remain available even if its photo can no longer be found.

Device permissions

My Tiny Journal may request access to device features needed for the functions you choose to use, including:

  • Your camera for taking photos
  • Your photo library for adding, saving, and displaying photos
  • Notifications for optional journal reminders
  • Device biometrics for optional app protection

These permissions are controlled through your device settings. You can deny or change them at any time, although some app features may no longer work as expected.

Analytics and diagnostics

My Tiny Journal does not collect analytics about your journal entries, photos, or other personal content.

If your device or operating system is configured to share anonymous crash reports or diagnostic information with Apple or Google, those reports are governed by their respective privacy policies.

In-app purchases

If you make an in-app purchase, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

We do not receive or store your payment information.

Third-party services

My Tiny Journal relies on Apple and Google for app distribution, purchases, device permissions, and certain operating-system services.

Those companies operate under their own privacy policies.

My Tiny Journal does not use third-party advertising services and does not sell your information.

Data security

Your journal information stays on your device.

My Tiny Journal includes optional security features such as password protection and device biometric authentication, where supported, to help protect your journal from unauthorized access.

While these features improve security, no system can guarantee complete protection.

You are responsible for protecting your device, maintaining your password, and controlling access to your device.

For security and privacy reasons, Frankly, LLC cannot see, recover, or reset your app password remotely.

Backups

Unless you choose to create backups using your device, photo library, or operating system, your journal information exists only on your device.

You are responsible for creating and maintaining any backups you wish to keep.

Your written entries and photos may be backed up separately. A backup of your journal data may not include the original photos stored in your device’s photo library.

If your device is lost, damaged, reset, or replaced, or if the app, its data, or the My Tiny Journal photo album is deleted without a usable backup, some or all of your journal may be permanently lost.

Because your journal is not stored on our servers, Frankly, LLC cannot recover, restore, or retrieve lost entries or photos.

Children’s privacy

My Tiny Journal is not designed to collect personal information from children or anyone else.

Because the app does not require an account and we do not receive journal content, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we do, the revised version will be posted here with an updated Effective Date.
