Privacy Policy

At My Tiny Journal, your privacy is simple. My Tiny Journal was built to help you keep meaningful moments, not to collect your personal information.

Your journal entries are stored locally by the app unless you choose to export, back up, or share them. We do not receive, store, or have access to your journal.

Your privacy at a glance

  • No account required
  • No account or behavioral tracking
  • No selling of your information
  • Journal entries are stored locally unless you choose to export, back up, or share them
  • We cannot read your entries because we never receive them
  • Your personal photos are not uploaded to our servers

Website analytics

This public website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure aggregate page visits and selected actions, such as app-store and contact-link clicks. We do not send form contents, email addresses, or personal app content as analytics events. Website analytics is separate from activity inside our mobile apps.

Information we collect

The My Tiny Journal app does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to Frankly, LLC.

Your journal entries, favorites, prompts, settings, and other app data are stored locally on your device.

We do not require you to create an account to use the app.

If you choose to contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and anything you intentionally attach. Support email is separate from the journal app and is described below.

Support messages

Support messages are delivered through your email service provider to our support inbox. They may be accessed by authorized Frankly, LLC personnel and the email service provider that operates the inbox so we can respond and troubleshoot.

Do not email your device passcode, passwords, private journal entries, personal photos, or backup files. Redact journal text, photos, names, locations, and notification content from screenshots.

Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of a support message by emailing support@mytinyjournal.app. Limited records may remain when required by law, security needs, or routine provider backups.

Support messages are not used for advertising or behavioral tracking, and we do not sell them.

Journal entries and photos

Your written journal entries are stored locally within the app on your device.

When you add a photo, My Tiny Journal creates a resized copy in the app’s private storage and associates that copy with the journal entry. The original remains under your control in your photo library.

We do not receive, upload, or store your journal photos on our servers.

Removing the original from your photo library does not remove the private copy already stored with the journal entry. Deleting the app or clearing its data can remove that private copy unless you have a usable complete backup.

Device permissions

My Tiny Journal may request access to device features needed for the functions you choose to use, including:

  • Your camera for taking photos
  • Your photo library for choosing a photo to add
  • Notifications for optional journal reminders
  • Device biometrics for optional app protection
  • Your location only when you choose to add a place to a memory

These permissions are controlled through your device settings. You can deny or change them at any time, although some app features may no longer work as expected.

Analytics and diagnostics

My Tiny Journal does not collect analytics about your journal entries, photos, or other personal content.

If your device or operating system is configured to share anonymous crash reports or diagnostic information with Apple or Google, those reports are governed by their respective privacy policies.

In-app purchases

If you make an in-app purchase, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

We do not receive or store your payment information.

Third-party services

My Tiny Journal relies on Apple and Google for app distribution, purchases, device permissions, and certain operating-system services.

Those companies operate under their own privacy policies.

My Tiny Journal does not use third-party advertising services and does not sell your information.

Data security

Your journal information is stored locally by the app. It leaves the app's local storage only when you choose to export, back up, or share it, or when your device's operating-system backup settings include app data.

My Tiny Journal includes optional security features such as your device passcode and biometric authentication, where supported, to help protect access to your journal.

While these features improve security, no system can guarantee complete protection.

You are responsible for protecting your device and passcode and controlling access to your device.

My Tiny Journal does not create or store a separate credential, and Frankly, LLC cannot unlock your device remotely.

Backups

The app can create local recovery points and lets you export a complete backup or a writing-only safety copy. On Apple devices, you may choose iCloud Drive or another location in Files for automatic point-in-time archives. On Android, you may choose Google Drive, OneDrive, or a folder on the device through the system file picker.

You are responsible for creating and maintaining any backups you wish to keep.

Complete backups include the journal photos stored by the app. Writing-only safety copies deliberately omit photos and say how many were omitted. Backups saved to a folder are protected by your device or storage-provider account; My Tiny Journal does not add separate encryption to those exported files.

On Apple devices, local app data may also be included in iCloud Backup or a computer backup when you enable those features in device settings. Apple manages that device backup; My Tiny Journal and Frankly, LLC do not receive or control it. Android device backup is disabled for the app, so Android users should keep a separate backup using the options above.

If your device is lost, damaged, reset, or replaced, or if the app or its data is deleted without a usable backup, some or all of your journal may be permanently lost.

Because your journal is not stored on our servers, Frankly, LLC cannot recover, restore, or retrieve lost entries or photos.

Children’s privacy

My Tiny Journal is not designed to collect personal information from children or anyone else.

Because the app does not require an account and we do not receive journal content, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we do, the revised version will be posted here with an updated Effective Date.
